Theme FOR 2020: The Four Seasons Have fun dressing up to our daily themes. During her high school years she played in the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra, and continued playing and studying music at Brigham Young University. After graduating with a Bachelor of Music Education, Debbie taught Strings in the Davis County Schools (Utah). Other orchestra experience includes Salt Lake Symphony (Utah), Plymouth Symphony (Michigan) and the Bellevue Philharmonic (Washington) where she led the String Enrichment Program for Schools. Debbie played 1st violin in the Crescendo Quartet (Seattle area) for 10 years. She now resides in Boise where she teaches orchestra at the Jr. ![]() One of her loves is playing in a family quartet with her daughters. Connie Hadlock, of Caldwell, Idaho, studied with June Itami, Walter Cerveny, and Lamar Barrus. She began teaching in 1977 and has been very active in music and the arts in our community. In 2005, she assisted in starting the first orchestra at Vallivue High School. For the past 23 years Connie has been an advisorcoach for a high school auxiliarydance team. Connie also taught fifth through eighth grade orchestra for the past three years in the Caldwell School District. Although recently semi-retiring, she continues teaching private violinviola lessons as well as performing in various ensembles and local orchestras. Involved with the Suzuki movement for many years, Connie currently serves on the faculty at Suzuki Institutes in Utah, California, Montana, and Idaho and served as co-director as well as director of the Idaho Suzuki Institute for a number of years in the past. Along with her husband Layne, she loves spending time with their six children, 22 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Bronwen Godfrey is a local piano teacher who grew up studying music through the Suzuki method starting at the age of 3. She now enjoys teaching and the freedom it allows for spending time with her family. Her favorite color is teal and she has an unhealthy relationship with jelly beans.
